The biggest town for miles around, Ely is the logical eastern terminus for drives along the Nevada stretch of Hwy 50, the ‘Loneliest Road in America.’ It’s about as remote a town of any size that you’ll find in Nevada, and you’ll most likely want to overnight once you get here. A good thing then that it’s a pretty little town with some worthwhile attractions and a photogenic old-Nevada downtown comprising a nice park, vibrant regional history murals and plenty of original, vintage, neon signage to keep the shutterbugs and Instagrammers busy.
