The summit (2572ft) of Mt Tamalpais is accessed via a short but steep hiking trail leading 0.3 miles uphill from the parking lot to a fire lookout with awesome ocean-to-bay views. From Pantoll Station, it’s just over 4 miles by car to the trailhead. A 2.5 mile loop trail can be tackled from the top.
