Golden Gate Overlook offers a view of its namesake bridge like no other. The “can’t miss it moment” here is the view of the bridge’s twin towers as framed between two magnificent Cypress trees. You can often spot happy couples snapping their wedding photos here – the scene is that good. This scenic vista point and its nearby cousin, the Pacific Overlook, were built in 2012 to honor the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge. Located off Lincoln Boulevard, the Golden Gate Overlook’s viewing area is a curved concrete plaza that hugs the edge of the coastal bluff, mimicking the design of the military fortifications and artillery platforms that surround it. Wooden benches invite you to pause and enjoy the coastal sights while taking in the pretty native flora and views of the winding footpaths below. Many come to the Golden Gate Overlook while hiking or cycling on one of three major multi-use park trails that converge here: the California Coastal Trail, the Bay Area Ridge Trail and the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail.
